Should you go?

Vortex is a privately run dive resort built around a large spring basin in the Panhandle: a 50-foot basin, a cavern entrance at the bottom, on-site air fills, gear rental, lodging, and camping.

It's a training hub — thousands of divers have certified here — and also works as a straightforward swimming and snorkeling day for non-divers, with platforms, a slide, and a rope swing.

Visiting

Day passes run roughly $20 per person with separate diver and camping rates — verify current pricing on the resort's own site, as private operators change rates seasonally. Cavern access has certification requirements posted on site.
